I have owned the penguin for over 6 months now and it has lived up to my expectations perfectly. The only drawback is that in the last month or so, both of the plastic bottle caps to the glass carafes have cracked open at the top, rendering them useless. Sodastream sells them in a two pack for $5, so I’ll let it go this time, but it’s a noteworthy problem. It’s also easy to let slide since the rest of the parts have delivered so well. For people comparison shopping – I bought this particular sodastream because the bottles are glass, not plastic, and it uses the large 60l canisters, so it goes for months without needing a change (and we use it a lot, definitely daily). It seems to me to be the best value even for the sort of higher price.
